Dr. Giorgio Anania MA, PhD

Giorgio Anania brings over 35 years of experience in deeptech startups, focusing on silicon photonics, semiconductor displays, drug delivery and optical components for broadband networks.

His world-class industry expertise and extensive commercial knowhow in bringing startups to market and taking them public will be invaluable to EnnoDC.

He has founded or participated in seven technology startups across four countries, raised over $1.7 billion, and executed three NASDAQ and LSE IPOs.

He has significant Board level experience and currently serves as Chair of the Board at Intrinsic Semiconductor (in the UK), Chair of the Board at Renaissance Fusion (in France) and on the advisory board of PhotonDelta (in the Netherlands).

At Bookham he grew the company from 50 people to over 5000 and did IPOs on Nasdaq and LSE. He was the co-founder and (until 2023) Vice President of the Executive Board at Photonics 21, the leading photonics association and lobbying entity.

Prior to this he worked as strategy consulting at Booz Allen and OC&C, a Booz-Allen-McKinsey spinout. He also advised several private equity funds on acquisitions including in pharmaceuticals.

Giorgio holds an M.A. in physics from Oxford University and a Ph.D. in thermonuclear fusion from Princeton University.
